Sales Tip: Learning to keep quiet

by Gary
(Iowa)

When I first started selling one of the biggest problems I use to have was to keep talking during my presentation. I figured if I stopped, then they would give me an objection, and I guess I was not prepared to handle objections early on. Once I realized that I should listen and ask questions, selling became easier.

Learning to listen
by: Ted

Learning to listen and ask questions is the key to selling.

Too many times we love to hear ourselves talk. Try to think back to a salesperson that you dealt with that would just keep on talking and talking and never asked you what you wanted. Not a happy experience.

As the old saying goes, God gave us two ears and one mouth. Meaning we should listen twice as much as we talk.

You might want to review our topic page on listening. You can access that topic in our site map.

Have a great day..Ted
