Is 50% commission being offered to me from a small firm a good deal for someone starting out with no salary?

From what I can see, this looks likes a very well established insurance business. If they are providing you with a book of of their P & C clients and office space, I would jump om it in a minute. I would check to see if your commissions and if any renewals are vested to you at some point down the road. 50% is that all that bad if you have the above benefits.

It all depends on what you are being provided with. If you are responsible for all your office costs and have no benefits, then maybe this 50% is questionable. If you are being given good leads, and you can make good sales off of them, then that is a super positive benefit.

Is this a P&C agency or a life agency?

Without knowing more details, it is very hard to answer such a general question. Feel free to comment back
