Finding New Prospects

I am a independent life and health agent here in Illinois and I am having a hard time finding new prospects. I have went thru all my friends and family and they have been great about sending me prospects to call but I need new ways of getting in front of people. I have not had a sale since after Thanksgiving. I have brought leads before but they give them to 5 or 6 or people and buying leads have never worked out for me.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Prospecting Problem

This is of course one of the biggest obstacles to overcome in the insurance business.

What do we do when we run out of our friends and their referrals?

The key is to first have a systematic prospecting program in place that you will work on a daily/ weekly basis. If you make 20 calls a day, you need to replace that lost inventory. You must take the time to sit down and create your prospecting marketing system.

You must have a number of different sources to develop names.

Just a few that I used was as follows:

Local newspaper

Chamber of commerce green sheet. This is a subscription that shows people that bought new cars, paid off mortgages, bought house's, etc.

Little league rosters
