Prospecting - who do I call?

Hello,

Recently, my boss said, "you need to start making phone calls every day for an hour". I have had my Life, Accident, and Health license since this past April of 2017. I haven't made any calls as of yet, and don't have any clients. The agency I work for has many clients but they are the owners clients. Any new business I bring he will share the commission with me. But, I feel uncomfortable calling during the day time, when this site says the best time to make cold calls are on Sunday nights.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can find people to call during the day time? And, what the best time would be?

I am thinking the best time to call during the day is 10am.

When I first started I had the mindset that everyone worked during the day so only time to call would be evenings, which I shared with my mentor. He looked me in the eye and said. Ted, go take a walk around the shopping centers and the mall during the day and then come back and tell me everybody works during the day.
