Do you have a mission statement? What does it say?

What is your target market?

What is your system to make a new agent successful, that you will sell then on?

Who are your leaders that you want to build around?

First and foremost, you need to have someone on target to achieve this mdrt goal or someone doing it, so you can use them as an example. In my case, I was example number one to recruit to. I was a top producer and I then used my knowledge to recruit people and transfer my selling skills to them. In addition, there must be a win-win culture developed within the team.

The culture is developed through results. However, if it was easy to do, everyone would be doing it.

All these things must be in place to build a culture of winners.

Agents need to be developed over time. MDRT producers all start out slow with a simple product so they can make a living first.

They then educate themselves overtime through industry and company schools and then slowly move into the selling of advanced products like estate planning, business insurance, buy and sells, etc. This is where the MDRT high premium cases will come from. But it takes time to develop those selling skills and confidence.

A new inexperienced agent will not have the skills or confidence to approach a CEO or wealthy millionaire till they have developed the knowledge and selling skills to deal with such prospects. Again, this also is the result of the support and help you get from the company you represent. It is also vital that they have the products to sell to fit these advanced markets.
