Door knocking, Newly weds and young people.
by: Ted

I just use to knock on door and basically say: Hi My name is Ted Wolk, I am with ABC insurance company and I specialize in working with newly marrieds. I understand that you just got married or are planning on getting married and would like to sit down with both of you and explain the type of work I do. Our company has a unique starter plan for newly married and it takes about 1/2 hour to explain it. Are you free now or is this evening or tomorrow sometime better. I then presented a joint life program or a combination of two policies I called the newly wed starter plan. Maybe for total of $50 month. This would be part whole life and part term.
Then I would also have a executive plan which was a larger plan with the Guaranteed purchase option feature. Thus guaranteeing the right to purchase more insurance if health failed. This would be a higher priced plan or combination of two policies and I would promote the savings aspect of it. This is called concept selling and there are a number of articles on my site related to concept selling and power phrases. Then sell them on being them on being their insurance agent. See articles on my site on how to do this. Use query box on home page.

Here is another idea: I am with abc Insurance company and I am dropping my business card off to homeowners along with some information on why people should have a will. :I worked with an attorney and he provided me a bunch of free brochures:

I have found that a lot of people want to do some financial planning but they don't know who to go to.
"You can also include a short resume about yourself."

Another technique I used later on was to knock on door and introduce my self, Hand business card and say I am doing a short survey on insurance ownership or what ever your comfortable with. Only asking 3 questions. Like :
"
When was last time you sat down with someone and reviewed your financial needs. Do you have a mortgage cancellation plan. Have you had anyone do a retirement projection plan for you.

These are areas I specialize in. Do you think you might be interested in sitting down sometime and just visiting with me about some ideas related to these issues?" Then shut up and let them talk.
